Focus Areas:
Checkmate patterns
Tactical awareness
Reviewing classic openings and endgames
Our curriculum is based on the Step-by-Step Method—a proven training approach used by many of the top chess federations in Europe. We also integrate material from the Yusupov Training Series and the renowned teachings of Grandmaster Ramesh RB.
Our teaching philosophy follows a “backwards” model:
We begin with checkmates
Then explore openings and tactical strategies
Followed by a strong emphasis on endgames—particularly for advanced players, where clinical calculation is essential for mastery.
Game Format:
Tournament games are 30 minutes per player, encouraging thoughtful play and time management.
Players who finish early will participate in friendly games or structured mini-chess activities while waiting.
Rating:
Over the course of the five-day camp, children will participate in 9 ECF-rated games.
